Join Tiffany Speakman and her husband Licensed Massage Therapist Brian Speakman for a 90 minute Yin Yoga practice enhanced with gentle massages. Take some time to balance, relax and restore your vitality. Assists and soothing massage will help you to calm the mind and deeply release into a sequence of postures. Optional application of essential oils will be available. This class is perfect for a date night and all levels of yogis. Join Elisha Ariel, Certified Buti Yoga Instructor, for this HOT BUTI YOGA pop-up class at Yoga on Main Street.
Buti is an Indian Marathi word that means the cure to something kept hidden or secret. Hot Buti® places an emphasis on the Spiral Structure Technique®, primal movement, power yoga and abdominal conditioning without the cardiovascular element you find in Buti Yoga classes. We'll slow it down and heat it up!
All levels are welcome to this 60 minute class. Bring a mat, towel and water and leave any judgement at the door. The room will be heated to around 90 degrees (give or take a few degrees). Please hydrate prior to class and arrive 15 minutes early to allow your body to acclimate. Class will conclude with savasana deepened by the optional application of essential oils. Class is $10. Our last one was such a hit we are ready for round 2! While strength is an obvious component of arm balances, what is often overlooked is the flexibility required, both physically and mentally, to come into and sustain these postures with ease. If you can support a healthy plank pose or chaturunga, you can begin to explore the nuances of arm balancing. Join Lindsay Briceland for a practice designed to enable you to find the strength, range of motion, and mental focus necessary to take flight. Lindsay will spend time breaking down the mechanics of popular arm balances, with and without the use of props, while exploring fun variations and working towards more complex and challenging postures. You will come away with a variety of techniques that can be woven into future practices.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. Whether you are curious (or fearful) about arm balancing or regularly balance on your hands, come build and refine your skills to take your practice to a new level! Lindsay will conclude the workshop with a half hour vinyasa flow.
Class is an hour and a half and $15
